This is a “wishing you were here” sent by my good friend Howard James and created by his son Jon.
I was sent a video of Howard’s son Jon driving in a nice snowstorm with 4-feet of snow already on the ground while listening to Desiree Goyette while driving in a pristine snowfall.
Originally I was supposed to move to Maine in July or August after my divorce of more than 10-years.
I do miss living up north, in the woods or on a farm, where I used to enjoy hunting, trapping, fishing, outdoor and wildlife photography, hiking and backpacking.
When I lived in New York before moving to Sarasota, Florida, I enjoyed an active outdoor lifestyle, taking trips north of North Bay, Ontario where I would spend weeks camping and fishing.
I would spend time hiking and camping in the Catskills, Adirondack, and Bear Mountain (Harriman State Park), and I would travel and spend long weekends fishing in lakes in both NY and NJ, with some of my favorite lakes like Black Lake, St. Lawrence River (1,000 Islands – Alexandria Bay area).
And in Canada at Lake Mississaganon, and a few unnamed.
In New Jersey there was Shepherd Lake and Greenwood Lake, and Lake George, Indian Lake and Lake Champaign in the Adirondacks, and all the lakes in the 10-Mile Boy Scout lakes, like Davis Lake all the way down to Narrowsburg where I fished in the Delaware River.
I would enjoy taking walks with both a camera and my hunting rifle as I took outdoor and wildlife photography (some areas I shot photos had wild dogs, hence the hunting rifle.
So again, my friends and their family prepared a treat for me, knowing that during the holidays I would be missing the very things going on.
